China Higher EdXiaomi Founder Makes Huge Donation
Wuhan University alumnus and founder of Xiaomi Technology, Lei Jun, has donated RMB 99.99 million to his Alma Mater. The fund is set to be used for construction of a 35,000 square metre science and technology building. His donation makes Wu Han University the 3rd biggest donation recipient in China, with a total of RMB 1.45 billion accumulated over 20 years, and has set a trend for China’s leading businessmen to show appreciation for their former universities.
