University of California Riverside helps Xiamen University Train Doctoral Students
A new international partnership between the University of California, Riverside (UCR) and Xiamen University was recently announced. The partnership will allow Xiamen University graduates to pursue doctoral education at UCR. A total of 40 doctoral students from a variety of disciplines including, engineering, humanities and social sciences, natural and agricultural sciences, education and management, will be trained by UCR over the next five years. Xiamen University will provide $1 million to help UCR meet costs, and the program could see students enrolling as soon as September 2018.
Up to eight students per year will be recommended to UCR by Xiamen University, and they will then follow the normal application process. Once students have successfully completed their PhD, they will then have the opportunity to become a faculty member at Xiamen University.
