Tel Aviv and Tsinghua Universities Announce $300 Million Joint Research Project

Israel’s Tel Aviv University and Beijing’s Tsinghua University announced a new $300 million research project focused on nanotechnologies, with a particular emphasis on medical and optics applications. The collaboration will include the establishment of a joint research center (called the XIN Center), as well as exchanges of graduate students and faculty members. With around one-third of the required money already raised, the remaining funding will be sourced from both private and government sources. Part of this funding will be used to design prototypes, connect academics to the business world and commercialize the products of research.
