Sino-French Aviation University, Hangzhou Campus Commences Construction
Three years after the MOU was signed under the witness countries’ presidents in 2018, the Sino-French Aviation University’s Hangzhou site has started construction, with an aim to start enrolling students in 2023.
The total investment is estimated to be RMB9.7 billion (US$ 1.5b), for a campus with capacity for 10,000 students and 2,000 staff members. The university will focus on engineering, especially aviation management. Plans include facilities to host seven faculties and a number of testing centers.
There are three Chinese partners: Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (BUAA), Zhejiang Provincial Government and Hangzhou Municipal Government. BUAA’s current Sino-French Aviation Institute offers the university’s undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, as well as a French diploma with capacity for 1,000 students.
