Shanghai Changes Post-study Work Visa Policies for Foreign Postgraduate Students

After a policy change on June 29, international graduates from postgraduate programs in Shanghai will no longer need to demonstrate two years of overseas work experience in order to gain employment. Previously, the requirement of two years’ overseas work experience meant foreign graduates from Shanghai institutions were required to leave China to work for two years before being allowed to work in China. Undergraduate students in Shanghai, and graduates at all levels in other cities including Beijing, are still required to prove two years of overseas work experience in order to gain work permits
