Senior HE Personnel Removed Due to Corruption

Chinese media has reported a large number of senior Higher Education officials were removed and charged for corruption. Senior personnel include President DING Hui of Northern China University of Technology, Party Secretary LIU Chuansheng of Beijing Normal University, Party Secretary CUI Shizhong of Henan S&T University, Vice President YU Zhigang of Chinese University of Political Science and Law, and others.

Since the start of the year, senior management from Kunming Medical University, Tianjin Police Academy, Guangxi TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) University, Changchun University of Technology and more than ten other universities have also been removed and faced with criminal charges since. EoL News reported 357 people from Beijing’s HE sector have received administrative or criminal punishment in the last five years. That number includes SHEN Zhili, Vice President of Northern China University of Technology, who was recharged for corruption and defamation, and received a ten year sentence in July.
