Science and technology awards recognize foreign scientists
Chinese vice premier Liu Yandong last week presented seven foreign scientists and one organization with China’s annual International Cooperation Award in Science and Technology. The awards were presented to scientists from the US, Russia, Canada, The Netherlands, Thailand, Australia and New Zealand, as well as to the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Research Center. Since 1995, China has presented the international cooperation award to 94 scientists and two organizations as part of its efforts to encourage foreign participation in Chinese R&D.
