9 Chinese Winners of DAMO Academy’s Young Scientist Awards

Mr. ZHANG Jian, CTO of Alibaba and President of the DAMO R&D Institute, recently announced the winners of the first DAMO Young Scientist Awards. Amongst them were nine Chinese scientists, with an average age of 32, from organisations working in fields such as quantum computing, big data analysis, internet of things and intelligent learning. The winners’ prizes include a RMB 1 million cash award (USD 147,000), research funding, and full access to DAMO Academy’s R&D Institute facility.
