Types of Events

Roundtable Discussions

We regularly organize roundtable discussions in Beijing and Shanghai to share knowledge on current industry topics. These events provide a platform for professionals in the higher education industry, both working in and visiting China, to informally exchange ideas and information and develop their own professional network.

We organise these roundtables to:

• Provide opportunities for participants to build a broader industry network, regardless of nationality;
• Share and build upon current industry thinking;
• Identify and improve industry best practices;
• Offer an alternative information source in addition to participants’ own networks;

Recent discussion topics include:

• Discipline Diversification with International Students
• Effective Social Media Strategies
• How to Maintain Relationships in Existing Joint Programs

In order to maintain a casual atmosphere and facilitate a constructive discussion, participation is limited to 20 people and RSVPs are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Discussions will be conducted in a combination of English and Chinese and, although no formal translator will be present, translations can be provided where necessary.

Careers Seminars & Job Fair

Every summer we organize a full-day event focusing on the issues of graduate/student employment in both Beijing and Shanghai.

During the morning, we host a series of panel discussions and seminars with representatives from employers and universities as well as university alumni, where a number of topics related to student employability are explored.

During the afternoon session, employers will be able to meet with graduate job seekers through pre-event and ad-hoc appointments and universities will have the chance to meet with their alumni and industry partners.

Webinars

A series of webinars for university and other education professionals who are not able to attend our roundtable discussions in China. External expert speakers present on a range of HE-related topics.

These sessions cover topics such as :

• Making use of Alumni Resources in China
• How to Effectively Manage Recruitment Agents in China
• How to Manage Your Markering Channels in China

Networking Sessions

We organise networking sessions to coincide with international higher education conferences and exhibitions with the aim of providing a friendly environment in which people can informally meet other education professionals and relax after the hustle and bustle of the education conference/exhibition. For visitors from overseas, these sessions are a fantastic opportunity to meet with other education representatives, mingle with those working here in China and learn a little about China’s fascinating and fast-pace higher education industry.
