MoE Approves 6 Minor and 13 VET Major Degrees
Tsinghua University has announced the opening of six new undergraduate courses in 2016 addressing both the national “Thirteen Five” plan and the current employment demands of new fields. The six new minors include professional statistics, atmospheric science (global change direction), Marxist theory, intelligent hardware, robotics and intelligent transportation. Undergraduates can apply to the minors after successfully completing their first year of required majors’ credits. Meanwhile, China’s Ministry of Education (MoE) has approved 13 vocational education majors to be implemented in 2017. The 13 majors include production of processing edible fungus, airport electronics technology, jewelry technology and management, food and drug supervision and administration, big data technology and application, medical equipment operation and management, and entrepreneurship and management of small and medium sized business.
