China Higher EdJD CEO Donates to Renmin University
LIU Qiangdong, CEO and founder of China’s leading B2B platform JINGDONG, made a RMB300million (USD44m) donation to Renmin University in early June. LIU, in his early 40s, founded JINGDONG (JD) in 1998, which today has over 60,000 personnel, and is the leading B2B platform in China. JINGDONG was listed on the NASDAQ in 2014, and its major shareholders include Tencent, Walmart, and at least 6 financial institutions. LIU studied at the China Europe International Business School, and his personal wealth is around USD 6 billion.
