First English Scientific Journal Established in China

China has just announced the establishment of its first English language scientific publication: Culture of Science. Professor Bernard Schiele from the University of Quebec is the Chief Editor of the quarterly publication. Submissions can be made in both Chinese and English, and in the event of a submission in Chinese, a Chinese editor will consider its publication and if successful, it will be translated and edited in English before publishing. The method of “blind selection and approval” is being adopted, whereby the author and the evaluation committee are not aware of each other’s identity. Each issue will contain 5 articles and the evaluation period is expected to take 4-6 months.
