ELE & Alibaba Jointly Build Online VET Training Capacity
Chinese company Er Le Ma (ELE) – a Chinese version of Uber Eats, acquired by Alibaba in 2018, announced its ambition to establish an Ali Community Living and Learning “University”, aiming to offer 1,000+ digital training courses, and reach out to 10m people for their professional development and skills training. WANG Lei, partner of Alibaba, also the CEO of this venture, pointed out that Alibaba has invested hundreds of millions to help ELE gain market shares, it’s time to “sharpen the knife”. The online earning platform will be divided into eight divisions including Culinary, Logistic and Distribution, Retail, Beauty Treatment, Wedding Preparation, Parental Education and Fashion. It will work with VET institutions around China and leverage Alibaba’s entrepreneur competency to jointly develop the curriculum.
