Chinese MoE organizes first International Student Job Fair in Beijing

China’s MoE recently held its first international student job fair at Peking University; organized by the Chinese Service Center for Scholarly Exchange (CSCSE) and attracted over 1,700 overseas students from 100 countries. The aim was to encourage international students to develop their post-graduate careers in China. Two new government policies are fuelling the initiative: the first exempts graduates with a Master’s degree in China from the 2-year work experience requirement for their work visa, and the second allows international students at Beijing universities to start a part-time business activity with their university’s consent and register the activities as a “start-up”.
