Broadcom and ShanghaiTech Partnership to Enhance Wi-Fi Infrastructure in Shanghai

Broadcom, a global innovator in semiconductor solutions for wired and wireless communications, and ShanghaiTech University have formed an alliance to bring enhanced Wi-Fi infrastructure to Shanghai, as well as accelerate product development for the expanding Internet of Things (IoT) market. Broadcom and ShanghaiTech will combine resources on a joint “Wi-Fi City” program to deploy a carrier grade wireless internet network on the university’s campus, with the aim to later roll out the networks to larger surrounding geographic areas. The partners will also establish a joint innovation centre focused on developing reference designs that promote advancements in wearable and other connected devices in the region.
