AIEC Hobart: “Embracing Diversity”
The 31st annual Australian International Education Conference (AIEC) was recently held in Hobart, Tasmania (10-13 Oct 2017). This year’s theme was “Embracing Diversity’ and during this year’s conference leading experts across the industry shared their knowledge with over 1,300 attendees. Once again, AIEC 2017 was the leading event on the international education calendar in Australia, but attracted significant interest from the Asia-Pacific region and further afield.
There were a few note-worthy inclusions from China which helped contribute to the success of AIEC 2017, including the Victorian Young Leaders to China program, and a Shijiazhuang University professor who presented on VET collaboration models. Deputy Director General Che Weimin from the CSCSE (Chinese Service Center for Scholarly Exchange) also participated in the the Global Dialogue session, “How is International Education Responding to the Rise of Nationalism around the World?”, and joined the conference as part of a small delegation of Chinese universities.
