NATURE: China’s Strongest Research Capability Lies in Chemistry
The scientific publication NATURE revealed in a recent article that during 2012-17, chemical research papers published from China increased by 84%, and half of the total published papers were chemistry related, concluding that China’s strongest research capability lies in chemistry. China is also demonstrating its aptitude in Astronomy, Astronautics, Biomedicine and Nano Science, where the total research output in these global sciences increased from 9% to 16%. The article lists the Chinese universities who have made the biggest contributions to China’s research, which include the Chinese Academic of Sciences (CAS), Peking University, Tsinghua University, Zhejiang University, Fudan University, Nankai University and Suzhou University. However, it also highlights the fact that China’s Return on Investment in research has still not reached the global standard.
