Highlights of IBC International School Conference
The 3rd IBC International School Conference in Shanghai in November saw the participation of approximately 40 international schools, and a number of services providers. The participants were positive about the growth of international and bilingual schools in China (the strongest growth), market demand, accumulation of management and teaching experience, as well as the improved affiliated services in IT, classroom learning design, and teaching materials support.
The participants also pointed out that the long establishment periods for new schools can lead to a sudden over supply at certain times and places, although most expansions are now in the 2nd and 3rd tier cities. Speakers and panelists also shared their experiences in recruitment, training and managing both local and foreign teachers, interpretation of policies and brands, and the varied uses of technology in teaching.
