First Sino-Russian Joint University Campus

The first Sino-Russia university campus was approved and established in Shenzhen earlier this month. It’s a joint venture between Beijing S&T University and Lomonosov Moscow State University (MSU), a university with a long history and 11 Nobel Prize winners. The plans were signed in 2014 by President XI and President Putin as part of a bilateral Education and Science Memorandum and both presidents sent their congratulations upon the official establishment of this university. The MoE has approved the enrolment of 5,000 students from undergraduate to PhD courses, however the first year will only see 113 students commencing their studies. The university is aiming to recruit more international students, in particular Russian-speaking students, as well as those from countries neighbouring both China and Russia.
