One Belt One Road Science & Technology Plan Announced

During the recent One Belt and One Road summit in Beijing, President Xi Jinping announced that China’s focus in the field of Science and Technology will include the digital economy, AI, nano-materials, quantum computing and intelligent cities, whilst also aiming to build international S&T incubators and virtual labs to encourage start-ups.
President Xi encouraged four areas of collaboration; research exchanges, S&T zones collaborations, joint laboratories and technology transfers. President Xi promised vows to provide 2,500 youth scientists with short-term assignments and 5,000 scholarship opportunities to participate in training in China over the next 5 years, as well as also investing in 50 joint laboratories. Sino-Hungarian and Sino-Mongolian bilateral S&T agreements were also signed during the summit.
