MOE initiates deferral plan to bolster graduate employment figures

The MoE has called on universities to allow students to defer their studies to open businesses in an effort to ease pressure on China’s job market, with the number of graduates expected to grow by 220,000 next year to 7.5 million. Universities will be required to provide assistance and advice to students in registering their businesses and raising capital. The MoE will also require universities to offer courses in entrepreneurship and establish business mentoring programs.
