Chinese MOOC Platform Maker Secures RMB100 million in Funding

According to TechNode, Beijing-based company Uniquedu – the maker of the Chinese online education portal Kaikeba – reportedly secured RMB100 million in funding this week from Fosun Venture Capital Investment. The Chinese-language MOOCs available on Kaikeba focus on software development and IT project management. Kaikeba was launched in August last year and operates in a similar fashion to global platforms Coursera and edX. Certificates from successfully completed courses on Kaikeba can be recognized as credits towards a degree at a number of well-known Chinese universities, including: Beihang University, Shanghai Jiaotong University, Dalian University of Technology and Xiamen University.
