U-M and Shanghai Jiao Tong University Joint Institute Wins IIE Award

In January, the Institute of International Education awarded the Shanghai-based University of Michigan (U-M) and Shanghai Jiao Tong University’s Joint Institute the Andrew Heiskell Award for best practices in international partnerships. The joint institute was established in 2006 and currently offers two undergraduate programs in mechanical engineering and electrical & computer engineering to more than 1200 students, in addition to two joint programs with U-M. The joint institute has channeled a number of qualified Chinese students to transfer to study at U-M in the US, as well as attracting almost 300 U-M students to participate in the program in China.
